Notarized Document Apostille.
Documents already notarized by a California notary public — affidavits, sworn statements, powers of attorney and similar — can be apostilled for international use. We confirm the notary's commission is current and the notarization is correct before submission.
The document, explained.
What is this document?
A notarized document is one a California notary public has signed and sealed, confirming the identity of the signer and (depending on the act) the signature or oath. For apostille, the California Secretary of State authenticates the notary's signature.
Does it need notarization or certification first?
These documents are already notarized — that's the whole point. What we verify is that the notarization is correct and complete: the notary's commission is current, the notarial act matches what the destination requires, and the document is in a form the California Secretary of State will accept. A notarization that's incomplete or from an expired commission can't be apostilled.
What needs to be ready first.
Ensure the document was notarized by a current California notary public.
Confirm the notarial act (acknowledgment, jurat, copy certification) matches what the destination requires.
Check that the notary's commission information and seal are present and legible.
Tell us the country where the document will be used — some destinations need specific notarial wording.
